  78. 1. To install run INSTALL.EXE to run the program from DOS.

  80. 2. Run SETUP.EXE to run the program from Windows 3.1 or Windows 95.

  82. Household Register is a fast easy to learn and use software package that
  83. permits you to maintain a detailed inventory of your possessions. If you
  84. are typical, you do not have an accurate inventory of your household or
  85. office possessions.

  87. Household Register is designed to easily remedy the problem. By recording
  88. your possessions with this program you will have a permanent record of
  89. your possessions which can be used for insurance claim purposes in case
  90. of loss, damage or destruction by fire, flood, windstorm, burglary etc.
  91. Even if these events do not occur and I truly hope they don't, using this
  92. program is ideal for many other purposes. Some are listed below:

  94. 1. For example if you require repaires or service for warranty work on
  95. an item, having the model number, serial number and the warranty
  96. expiration date facilitates getting the service accomplished.
  97.  
  98. 2. If you have a Homeowners or Renters insurance policy, your insurance
  99. company always wants to know the value of your household items. This
  100. program will compute this value using either the purchase or replacement
  101. value of your possessions
  102.  
  103. Using Household Register to record all your possessions and keeping your
  104. inventory up to date will eliminate much trouble and anguish in case of
  105. disaster.  Once you record your inventory using Household Register,
  106. please store a backup data disk, program disk and one of your inventory
  107. listings away from home in a safe place.

  109. Although we have primarily referred to home use of Household Register,
  110. it can be used by offices, schools, churches and any type of organization
  111. that wants to inventory virtually anything.

  113. Finally remeber this is a sharware program and you are only allowed to
  114. evaluate this program up to forty-five (45) days.  After that time you
  115. must register if you want to continue to use the program. We'll also
  116. gladly accept your registration prior to the end of the forty-five day

  144. Household Register Installation Instructions
  145. ============================================
  146. Household Register is a dos program but compatible with Win 3.1 and Win
  147. 95.  The program comes with two installation routines. One to install the
  148. program strictly as a dos application. The other routine will install the
  149. program to be run from a program group from Win 3.1 or Windows 95.

  152. DOS INSTALLATION AND START-UP
  153.  
  154. 1. Insert the Household Register disk in the A or B drive as applicable.
  155.  
  156. 2. Type A:\INSTALL or B:\INSTALL as applicable.
  157.  
  158. 3. Follow the on screen instructions.

  160. NOTE: If you downloaded the program from a BBS, after unzipping the
  161. program, change to the directory where you unzipped the program and type
  162. INSTALL and follow the on screen instructions.

  164. To start the program after installation change to the directory where you
  165. installed the program (normally C:\HR) and type HR and press the
  166. enter key.  To get to the correct directory type the following:

  191. double click the Household Register icon.  Press ALT + ENTER to cycle
  192. between full screen and dos windows mode.

  196. 1. From Windows 95 Click the Start button, point to Settings, then click
  197. the Control Panel.

  199. 2. On the Control Panel, double click Add/Remove programs.
